. . . . RESOLUTION

McKay Hall, Park University Parkville, Mo.

As a follow-up on the "Depends on Who You Are" post, I'm posting a note I got from the director of Alumni Relations at Park University and wanted to post it here prominently so that those who read these pages can know how things turned out. As I had mentioned in the comments area of that piece, Park was appalled with this activity and said that Harris was also . . . I had suspected as much were they to know what had transpired.
Here then is Julie's update:

Mike,

I spoke to my contact at Harris Connect and the situation was resolved on
Friday in a manner that I believe will be satisfactory to you.

I am jumping ahead a little by contacting you myself because Harris
management intends to contact you directly to apologize and inform you of
their actions. After reviewing the recording of the conversation, your
caller was terminated.

Again, please accept my apology. In the spirit of fairness, I hope you will
report the outcome of this situation on your blog.

Julie McCollum
Director of Alumni Relations
Park University

That sounds like a good resolution. Good for you for reporting it, and for them for taking appropriate action. Have a great day!

Most places won't fire someone for one ill-judged comment, so I imagine this isn't the first time they've had a problem with this person. She needs to find a job that doesn't require any public relations skills.

I'm glad things worked out okay, but how horrible that this person would make such a judgmental comment to you. Ugh.
